ApplyThere are two different types of application that are available: an 'agreement in principle' application and a full mortgage application. In either case, you can apply online or download a paper form to fax to us. Agreement in principleAn 'agreement in principle' is a commitment from a lender that they will lend you a specified amount, as long as the property you find is suitable and you are able to verify your income. You would typically apply for an agreement in principle when you have not yet had an offer accepted on a property and are looking for the confidence to make an offer or start looking at property in earnest. For shared ownership, housing associations may require that you have an agreement in principle before they will offer you a property. Click here to apply for an agreement in principle. Full mortgage applicationIf you have found a specific property you wish to buy and your offer has been accepted by the vendor, or a housing association has formally offered you a property, you can apply for a full mortgage application. In this case, you still start by completing an agreement in principle application but the difference is that you tick the box to confirm that you have had an offer accepted on a property then once you have received the agreement in principle you can log straight back in and give us the full application details – i.e. property address; estate agent; solicitor etc. Click here to apply for a mortgage in full. |
