About Share to buy ltd – making housing affordable

Share to buy is dedicated to making affordable housing truly accessible online. At sharetobuy.com you can find affordable homes for sale and information on how to buy them. All the shared ownership properties we display come with a special budget tool to show you the potential monthly cost and required deposit. We also have an in-house mortgage team with huge experience of arranging mortgages for shared ownership including part buy part rent and shared equity. Finally, we are proud to offer our exclusive open market fee-free joint mortgages from Britannia. For all mortgages we arrange, we donate £10 towards helping homeless people. At the bottom of the page you can register for regular news updates from Share to buy, including changes to mortgage products, new shared ownership properties in your area, interest rates etc.

History

Share to buy was founded in the summer of 2004. We originally launched with an idea regarded as radical at the time: friends buying together. We have since developed our core focus on shared ownership and affordable housing. We are passionate about shared ownership and its ability to help people achieve home-owning aspirations that might otherwise be mere pipe dreams.

Partners

Whilst we are entirely privately owned and not 'tied' to any other organisation or required to offer the products of a particular company, we do have strong links with some major partners. This includes a number of major housing associations but in particular, Britannia and the Co-operative bank plc. We are an affinity partner of Britannia, a trading name of the Co-operative Bank plc. Britannia provides an exclusive mortgage to Share to buy that is not available anywhere else, even in their branches: a mortgage with no up-front fees, but most importantly, with no early repayment charges so you are never tied in. Britannia have a proven track record of high quality customer service and a social awareness that has enabled them to look sympathetically on the problems faced by first time buyers. Read Britannia's website for more information on our partnership.
