We now have access to 100% shared ownership mortgages. Customers can access zero deposit mortgages for part buy part rent but they must have no adverse credit history. More details here. We have launched our first properties on the site available through the scheme: Pembroke Park, Crawley, West Sussex and Evolution, Ashford, Kent. Firstbuy is attractive because you can put down a 5% deposit but still access competitive mortgage rates.
Shared ownership mortgages - update

We are continuing to see changes in the range of shared ownership mortgages available in the current market. Generally, competition seems to be returning and new products are coming out all the time. In recent weeks, one new lender has come in to 95% of the share for new build and resales whilst another lender has come in at 90% for resales. Finally, some of the best buys we have access to have also changed but are limited to 90% purchases for shared ownership houses. For more information read about our shared ownership mortgages.

We have recently received a number of enquiries asking about the different shared ownership schemes on offer through Share to buy. The main shared ownership scheme is part buy part rent and we currently focus mainly on this scheme, with part rent part buy properties available on our shared ownership property website. We also provide shared ownership mortgages. However, we wanted to reassure customers that in the coming weeks we expect to be expanding our product availability into some of the other affordable housing schemes, such as Firstbuy and rent to buy.
