2. How do I instruct a solicitor and when do I need to do it?

If you accept the quotation you can instruct your solicitor by email attaching copies of certified documents and proof of address dated within the last 3 months. You need to do this as soon as you have been advised by the Housing Association that you have secured a property. Call our Accounts Department on 0207 183 8840 / 0117 929 2662 to pay money on account. Now we can start work.
 

3. What happens next?

Pass our details (name, address) to the housing association and your mortgage broker. We, your solicitors, will receive a memorandum of sale setting out contact details for seller’s and housing association’s solicitors.
 
The legal work can begin. Legal work includes, amongst other things, ordering and reviewing searches, raising enquiries of the seller’s solicitors and reviewing the replies in order to draft the report on title.
