What is Shared Ownership?
Shared Ownership is a government-backed scheme designed to make the upfront costs of buying a home, such as a deposit, more affordable. As a Shared Ownership homeowner, you buy a share of your home and pay a subsidised rent to us, the property developer, on the remaining share.
Your deposit is based on the value of your share rather than the full market value of the home, significantly reducing your upfront costs. You live in the property as your own and can choose to increase your share over time through staircasing.

We offer homes on a first-come, first-served basis, as long as you meet all the eligibility criteria. Sometimes, we give priority to people who live or work in the same area as the home. This is based on rules set by the local authority. All Shared Ownership providers must publish an allocations policy, which explains how they decide who gets a home.
