Search for homes on Share to Buy

Read our complete First Time Buyer Guide for everything you need to know about mortgages, deposits, homeownership schemes and buying your first home.

Interested in HOLD or Shared Ownership?

Find your pathway to homeownership

Share to Buy is the country’s leading property portal dedicated to affordable home-buying and rental schemes, including Homeownership for people with Long-term Disabilities (HOLD). If you or your loved one is interested in HOLD, affordable housing products and first time buyer schemes, you’ve found your space.

If you have a disability and rely on benefits for your income, it may still be possible for you to secure a specialist mortgage and part-buy a home of your own, either from a Shared Ownership development (properties built specifically for sale on a Shared Ownership basis) or from the open market. This second option uses a scheme known as HOLD (Home Ownership for people with Long-term Disabilities). In both cases, applicants can purchase a share of a home using a specialist mortgage provider such as MySafeHome.

Here, you can learn about HOLD and Shared Ownership including eligibility and costs, search for HOLD properties, and take the next step in your home-buying journey.

Our mission is to inspire, guide and empower budding buyers facing challenges in today’s housing market. Learn more about Homeownership for people with Long-term Disabilities scheme to find your path.
