You will need to be able to provide evidence that you meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for the Rentplus scheme:
1) Currently in work, training for a qualification or otherwise able to show how you will be able to buy the property at the end of the agreed rental period.
2) Have a household income of less than £80,000 per year.
3) No recent history of rent arrears, ASB or criminal convictions.
4) Willing and able to save for purchase costs and deposit during rental period, whilst paying rent and household expenses.

You must meet one of the criteria listed below. Priority will be given in the order shown, firstly to North Dorset but if a suitable applicant isn’t found we may be able to expand this to the whole of Dorset
a) Being permanently resident for at least 2 years
b) In permanent employment for a minimum of 16 hours per week.
c) Having immediate relatives (i.e. parents, non-dependent children, brother or sister) who have lived there for at least 5 years and with whom there has been shown to have been frequent contact, commitment or dependency. Other categories or relationships may be considered by the Council including foster relationships where clear evidence of frequent contact, commitment or dependency is shown.

The property is offered at an affordable rent (80% of market rate) for an initial agreed rental period of 7 years ending in June 2033. At the end of the agreed rental period it will be sold, with priority given to the tenant who will also be gifted a deposit equal to 10% of the sale price towards their purchase. The weekly rent is to be confirmed but will be no more than £179.51 per week, one month’s rent of £777.88 (TBC) will be required in advance.
