Eligibility criteria
Applicants will be considered only if they currently live or work in Northwest Leicestershire or have immediate members of their family living in the area.

Please note that you will require a local connection as follows
1. First priority to persons who for the 12 (twelve) months immediately prior to their Occupation of the Affordable Dwelling have been living or working within the Parish of Burley-in-Wharfedale or any successors or amendments to that parish and that persons parent, grandparent, partner, child or grandchild
2. Second priority to persons who for the 12 (twelve) months immediately prior to their Occupation of the Affordable Dwelling have been living or working within the electoral ward of Wharfedale or any successors or amendments to that ward and that persons parent, grandparent, partner, child or grandchild

Eligibility

You can apply to buy the home if both of the following apply:
Your household income is £80,000 or less.
You cannot afford all of the deposit and mortgage payments to buy a home that meets your needs.

One of the following must also be true:

You're a first-time buyer.
You used to own a home but cannot afford to buy one now.
You're forming a new household - for example, after a relationship breakdown.
You're an existing shared owner, and you want to move.
You own a home and want to move but cannot afford a new home for your needs.
If you own a home, you must have completed the sale of the home on or before the date you complete your shared ownership purchase.
You must have a good credit record. Your application will involve an assessment of your finances.

LOCAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA APPLIES -
1. You live within the Local Area at an address registered for Council Tax
2. You have permanent employment within the Local Area
3. You have a close relative(s): ie, Mother, Father, Children or Siblings who have resided in the Local Area for a minimum of 5 years with whom you have maintained regular contact with.
