Abri Homes: Shared Ownership houses available in Dorset
Register to attend an open day at Violet Cross this March
A new show home has opened its doors today at Violet Cross, a new development of two and three bedroom homes in the village of Hazelbury Bryan, giving prospective buyers a window into affordable rural living.
The development is brought to market by Abri Homes and available via the government’s Shared Ownership scheme. The show home, which is available to view by appointment, allows interested buyers to get a feel for the three bedroom homes available on site which start at £101,500 for a 35% share.
The available homes at Violet Cross are all semi-detached or end-of-terrace and boast Symphony kitchens, open-plan living and dining areas, allocated parking spaces, and private turfed back gardens. Flooring is included and some homes also benefit from a garage.
The development is set in an idyllic location in the Blackmore Vale, surrounded by countryside and with a village hall, café, and pub right on the doorstep. Sturminster Newton is just five miles away and the busier hubs of Sherborne, Dorchester, Yeovil and Shaftesbury are all within an easy 30 minute commute.
The homes are ready to move into now and expected to attract a range of buyers from across Dorset as well as further afield. Stuart Hensby, Associate Director for Sales & Marketing at Abri Homes explains:
“Post-pandemic we’re seeing a real appetite for well-connected rural developments and all the health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits that come with a countryside location. Those benefits can often be costly however leaving some buyers priced out of rural areas. Available via Shared Ownership, Violet Cross makes a range of high-quality new homes affordable to a much broader cross-section of the market.
“As well as finding the rural location attractive, our buyers are also reassured by the energy efficiency and lower running costs of a new build home. Whereas traditionally rural living may have required purchasing an older property, these new homes change that and give peace of mind when it comes to energy bills. That’s critical right now given the current cost of living crisis, and uncertainty around energy costs.”
The new three bedroom show home has been creatively designed by Oasis Interior Design and features a range of natural and rurally-inspired furniture, materials and artwork. The children’s bedroom is a particular highlight with playful touches inspired by well-known children’s book ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’.
