Today will see the start of a new chapter for Share to Buy as the Mayor of London’s First Steps portal comes to an end.

What was First Steps scheme?

In partnership with Share to Buy, First Steps has been the Mayor of London’s official property portal for the past five years, helping low and modest-income Londoners to buy or rent a home at a price that’s affordable.

With a key focus on Shared Ownership homes in the capital, Share to Buy has been the official partner and home of First Steps for half a decade now. In the past five years, Share to Buy have helped to raised awareness of the Shared Ownership scheme, registering over 250,000 Londoners to date, and assisting hundreds of thousands of buyers on their journey to find a home to call their own in the capital. What does the end of the First Steps scheme mean?

While the end of First Steps marks the end of an era for us, Share to Buy remains at the forefront of the industry, offering affordable homes across the country. Continuing to grow following the relaunch of our new website in February 2018, Share to Buy has further cemented its position as the home of Shared Ownership.
