London’s largest first time buyer event returns this autumn

The London Home Show will return to the QEII Centre in Westminster

London’s largest event for first time buyers is set to return on Saturday 18th September with 45 exhibitors all under one roof. Held at The QEII Centre in Westminster from 10.30am to 5pm, the London Home Show is a one stop shop for first time buyers looking to find out more about Shared Ownership, Help to Buy, and all things affordable home ownership.

Hosted by Share to Buy, the UK’s leading online portal for Shared Ownership properties, the London Home Show successfully went digital for the first time earlier this year, following a pause in in-person events, with the Virtual London Home Show welcoming over a thousand budding buyers. The autumn 2021 event – the fourteenth live show at The QEII Centre – will be the first in-person London Home Show since lockdown and is expected to welcome thousands of budding buyers seeking information on home ownership in the capital.

A new offering for the show this year, a series of first time buyer workshops will be taking place throughout the day, giving visitors a chance to learn about the different home-buying options available to them from a range of industry experts.

The free exhibition will offer potential buyers unprecedented access to some of the housing industry’s biggest names and showcase the best affordable homes available across London and the Home Counties – including thousands of properties available through Shared Ownership and Help to Buy. The event will also offer information about quality rental alternatives including London Living Rent and Build to Rent.

In addition to the new series of workshops, visitors will be able to attend live Q&A sessions with industry experts covering everything from understanding Shared Ownership and Help to Buy eligibility criteria to perfecting your credit score. Independent mortgage advisors and solicitors will also be on hand to offer free financial and legal advice and answer purchasers’ questions about the buying process.

Hear from Share to Buy

Nick Lieb, Head of Operations for Share to Buy comments: “After a challenging 18 months for many, we’re thrilled to be able to host the London Home Show in-person this September. The lifestyle shift caused by the pandemic has changed what we need and want in our homes, motivating many to take their first steps toward home ownership. The property market has remained competitive, particularly in the capital. We’ve seen first-hand at Share to Buy how potential purchasers are eagerly seeking out all of their options when it comes to buying their first home. Share to Buy saw record registrations in 2020 from a variety of buyers – ranging from tech-savvy Gen Zs and Millennials to older Gen Xers who need a helping hand onto the property ladder.

“The housing industry adapted quickly to ensure buyers had a wealth of information available online, but for some, nothing beats speaking face-to-face with experts and having their questions answered directly. The London Home Show is a critical asset for many first time buyers in the capital and we can’t wait to welcome them through the doors once again.”
