London and Quadrant launch their first homes in the Midlands

On Saturday 12th October, L&Q is launching the first phase of one, two, three and four bedroom homes at Birnam Mews in Tiddington, Warwickshire. This marks the leading housing association’s first property launch in the Midlands, a significant milestone in its expansion outside of London and the South East.

Offering a high specification as standard, Birnam Mews will meet L&Q’s ‘New-Build Homes: Quality Standard’ promise – with no hidden costs for buyers, everyone will get a home they love, simply having to choose between colour palettes.

Birnam Mews is an attractive collection of 60 two, three and four bedroom traditionally designed houses, as well as unique one bedroom quarter houses – a typical house layout with four separate one bedroom properties, shared gardens and ample parking for all residents – ideal for first time buyers trying to get their foot on the ladder.

Over the past year, only 23 homes came to market in the affluent village of Tiddington. Birnam Mews is a significant new opportunity for local residents to find a brand new home within the area, whether upsizing or downsizing, and for buyers to move into the village.

All two to four-bedroom homes feature private gardens, accessed via stylish French doors, off an open-plan living room. Modern quarter houses share a large garden between the four properties. Front gardens will include a variety of trees, specifically selected for their potential for promoting biodiversity.

The development will be set within publicly accessible landscaped grounds with mature planting and children’s play areas, where residents will be able to enjoy picturesque scenery. Maintaining the rural feel of the village, L&Q is installing hedgehog fencing, roosting places for birds, and a variety of trees throughout the site. Wild flowers and log piles will populate the southern side of the site, encouraging an attractive habitat for butterflies and insects.

Andrea Palmer, Head of Regional Sales for L&Q Counties, comments: “We’re delighted to be launching our first new homes in the Midlands. Birnam Mews is a fantastic opportunity for a range of buyers – from growing families looking to purchase a larger home to grow into, to homeowners looking to downsize, and even for first time buyers. These first homes we’re launching are in conjunction with our New-Build Homes: Quality Standard, Birnam Mews buyers will not be stung with hidden costs for extras – benefitting from high quality specification as standard. This is an important part of our plans as we begin building in Warwickshire.’

The high specification homes feature German designed Nobilia kitchens, fitted with integrated BEKO appliances. Bathrooms have Ideal Standard sanitaryware, complete with modern chrome fixtures and fittings, and a thermostatic shower and dual-fuel heated towel warmer. Underfoot, all homes are fitted with high quality Amtico carpets and sleek glazed porcelain tiling.

Local primary school Alveston Church of England is minutes away from Birnam Mews, whilst secondary school options include OFSTED outstanding Stratford Girls’ Grammar School and King Edward VI School, as well as co-educational Stratford upon Avon school.

Residents are just moments away from Tiddington village centre, with an attractive row of independent restaurants and a traditional English pub, The Crown, offering the quintessential village lifestyle.

Meanwhile, the cultural melting-pot of Stratford-upon-Avon is under two miles away, famously known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. As well as museums and theatres, the picturesque town has regular farmers markets, a wide selection of high street shops and numerous restaurants and cafes.

Prices start from £250,000 for a one bedroom home, £345,000 for a two bedroom home, £420,000 for a three bedroom home and £625,000 for a four bedroom home.
