Find a Help to Buy home with Countryside Properties

Help to Buy and moving up the property ladder to your Countryside dream home

Average UK asking prices for houses are predicted to rise by 2% this year, according to property listing website Rightmove.

Your dream of becoming a homeowner this 2020 is far closer than you think. The good news is that the Government’s Help to Buy scheme could enable you to buy a new-build home under £600,000 with just a 5% deposit.

The Help to Buy scheme is not only for first time buyers but existing homeowners too. Once you’ve saved just 5% towards your dream home, you could be eligible for an interest-free Government equity loan of up to 20% of the purchase price, or 40% in Greater London. This goes a long way to making monthly mortgage repayments affordable and of course to helping you become a homeowner.

The even better news? Countryside homes start with prices from £215,000, giving you affordable yet high quality homes.

Qualifying for Help to Buy

To qualify, you need just a 5% deposit and a mortgage in place for up to 55% of the home’s value. If you’re accepted, the Government’s equity loan is interest-free for the first five years.

As you’d expect, there are rules governing Help to Buy. For example, it only covers full home ownership, not shared equity or Shared Ownership and you can only use it to buy your primary home.

London’s Help to Buy scheme runs a little differently, the amount you can borrow increases up to 40% of the purchase price, reflecting the price difference for properties in the capital. London Help to Buy only applies to new-build homes in the city’s 33 boroughs, of which Countryside have plenty for you to choose from.
