About the Property

As you enter the property you will be in the entrance hallway, with the downstairs WC and the stairs to the first floor on your left. On the right is the kitchen/diner, decorated with a neutral colour palette, and benefitting from an integrated oven with gas hobs and extractor hood. There is a good amount of cupboard and counter space, and housing for larger freestanding appliances such as a washing machine or fridge. The room is quite spacious and there is plenty of room for a dining table and chairs. At the end of the hallway is the living room, which is an excellent size. There is plenty of room for furniture, with the current contents including two large sofas (one corner sofa), a coffee table, and a TV unit. There is a large set of glass doors, with a floor to ceiling window next to them, leading out into the rear and private garden.

Upstairs, the first bedroom is located at the front of the property, and benefits from an ensuite bathroom with shower. The second and third bedrooms are situated at the rear of the property, and neighbour each other. All the bedrooms feature carpeting, and a good-sized window. The main bathroom sits in the middle of the property, between the first bedroom and the second, and features both bath and shower facilities.

Outside, the garden is a good size and is comprised of a small patio area, with a larger lawn section following. There is a side gate on the left providing access to the front of the property.

About the Area

Chatteris is a market town and civil parish in the Fenland district of Cambridgeshire, England, situated in the Fens between Huntingdon, March and Ely. The town is in the North East Cambridgeshire parliamentary constituency. The parish of Chatteris is large, covering 6,099 hectares, and for much of its history was a raised island in the low-lying wetland of the Fens. Mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, the town has evidence of settlement from the Neolithic period. After several fires in the 18th and 19th centuries, the majority of the town's housing dates from the late Victorian period onwards, with the tower of the parish church the only medieval building remaining.

Local amenities in the area include two ALDIs, a Tesco, a couple of pubs, some cafés, take-away shops, and restaurants, a doctors surgery, a pharmacy, and several outdoor play areas.

Shared Ownership, how does it work?

If buying a home seems out of reach, Shared Ownership* could be the answer and offers a great alternative to renting. This property has a 40% share available to purchase, and you will pay a subsidised rent on the remaining share, as displayed above. In the future you can purchase further shares in your home** or sell your share and move on.

*Properties are offered as leasehold.

**Some properties are restricted to the level of share you can purchase.

Please note: Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Monthly Cost Calculator

The ‘estimated total monthly cost’ for a Shared Ownership property consists of three separate elements added together: rent, service charge and mortgage.

Read More Read Less
  • Rent: This is charged on the share you do not own and is usually payable to a housing association (rent is not generally payable on shared equity schemes).
  • Service Charge: Covers maintenance and repairs for communal areas within your development.
  • Mortgage: Share to Buy use a database of mortgage rates to work out the rate likely to be available for the deposit amount shown, and then generate an estimated monthly plan on a 25 year capital repayment basis.

NB: This mortgage estimate is not confirmation that you can obtain a mortgage and you will need to satisfy the requirements of the relevant mortgage lender. This is not a guarantee that in practice you would be able to apply for such a rate, nor is this a recommendation that the rate used would be the best product for you.
